Dari minum darah kobra, sampai melemparkan granat yang siap meledak, beberapa latihan militer memang dilakukan dengan brutal sampai-sampai membuat beberapa orang hilang akal. Para tentara yang mengabdikan hidup mereka untuk menyelamatkan orang terkadang mesti diuji di luar batas mereka.

Ada kalanya, cara yang dilakukan terdengar tak manusiawi dan begitu menyiksa bagi orang awam. Berikut beberapa latihan militer paling mengerikan yang pernah dijalankan oleh tentara dari seluruh dunia.

1. Minum darah ular kobra

Marinir Amerika Serikat diwajibkan untuk mengikuti pelatihan bertahan hidup sebelas hari di Hutan Thailand, di mana mereka diharuskan menangkap ular kobra kemudian meminum darah ular berbisa tersebut.

2. Berjalan di atas tali yang terbakar

Lain lagi dengan yang dilakukan tentara Belarusia. Untuk melatih koordinasi dan disiplin, tentara akan disuruh berjalan di atas tali sementara di bawahnya dibakar kayu. Untuk menambah ketegangan, komandan akan menembakkan peluru ke bawah kaki mereka.

3. Telungkup di pantai di bawah ombak

Salah satu praktek paling umum yang dilakukan oleh Angkatan Laut Amerika Serikat yakni memaksa prajurit berbaring menelungkup di pantai sementara lengan mereka di atas kepala. Selanjutnya, tinggal menunggu ombak yang akan menenggelamkan kepala mereka. Mereka harus bertahan selama beberapa menit sampai ombak tersebut kembali ke laut.

4. Lempar-tangkap dengan granat

Tentara di China menggunakan cara yang cukup brutal untuk mengajarkan disiplin dan ketepatan. Komandan akan menarik pin pengaman dari granat kemudian memberikannya pada prajurit di baris pertama. Prajurit tersebut harus mengopernya ke temannya secepatnya tanpa menjatuhkan. Sampai ke prajurit terakhir yang akan melempar granat aktif tersebut ke dalam lubang dan semua orang berlari menyelamatkan diri. Latihan khusus tersebut bertujuan untuk mengajarkan bagaimana cara menghadapi senjata aktif.

5. Merangkak di bebatuan

Salah satu latihan terakhir Marinir Taiwan yang paling keras yakni merangkak di bebatuan sepanjang 50 meter. Batu-batu besar tersebut sudah tentu akan menggores kulit mereka. Latihan ini disebut "Road to Heaven".

6. Menahan rasa sakit

Tentara Rusia diharuskan menahan rasa sakit dengan latihan yang terbilang tak masuk akal. Salah satu cara yang dilakukan yakni membakar beton dan meletakkan di atas perut seorang prajurit. Selanjutnya batu tersebut akan dipukul dengan palu oleh tentara lainnya. Sudah tentu, tentara yang menahan beton tersebut tidak boleh bergerak atau bersuara sedikitpun.

7. Menahan tembakan dari jarak dekat

Angkatan bersenjata Rusia mengharuskan tentaranya untuk menahan rasa sakit dengan cara ditembak dari jarak dekat. Meski menggunakan jaket anti peluru, banyak prajurit yang cedera karena tembakan yang begitu dekat di dada.

8. Bertahan dalam kamar gas

Tentara Inggris bisa jadi memiliki cara paling brutal di antara yang lainnya. Tentara mereka akan diminta untuk masuk ke kamar gas sambil mengenakan masker. Kemudian mereka harus melepas masker tersebut dan berlomba siapa yang bertahan paling lama sebelum jatuh pingsan.

9. Bertahan di cuaca dingin

Korea Selatan memiliki cara tersendiri melatih tentara mereka. Prajurit diharuskan untuk berlari maraton di atas salju tanpa pakaian di mana suhunya sampai minus 30 derajat Celcius.

10. Bom bunuh diri

Pelatihan teroris akan membuat prajuritnya mesti mengorbankan nyawa mereka. Adalah sebuah kehormatan untuk melakukan bom bunuh diri dalam sebuah organisasi teroris.

Car insurance plans are usually issued for one year after which they should be renewed. If you do not renew it, you are driving a car without car insurance. If numbers are any indication, a study by New India Assurance revealed that about 70% of vehicles on Indian roads are without insurance. Is your car one among them? If yes, beware. Among other changes, the Bill penalizes you heavily if you are caught driving without having a valid insurance cover. As per the amendments, you would have to part with a whopping Rs.25, 000 for a light motor vehicles or Rs.75, 000 for other motor vehicles as a fine for driving without insurance. Pay losses for damages caused to third party or property In an accident, if you unintentionally harm any person or surrounding property, you are liable to pay the loss incurred. This is called third party liability. Your car insurance mandatorily covers this third party liability and spares you the loss incurred. You would be penalized, get a challan and might even be imprisoned. Loss of No Claim Bonus If your car insurance expires and you do not renew it, besides the penalties and fines, you also lose the No Claim Bonus which you accumulated in your existing policy. Car insurance plans allow a discount in subsequent year’s premiums if there is no claim in any current year. This discount increases every year and saves your premium outgo. With a slight increase in the premium you can avail a higher coverage option which covers for your damages too. Since car repairs are expensive, a comprehensive policy makes more sense even if the premiums are a little high.
